UCT Research is engaged in the design of technology and media for humans.

 Briefly describe your organisation
Our research topics are human experience and behavior in rooms and buildings (Ambient Technologies Research - Smart Room Development), human experience and behavior with hardware and software (User Interface Research - User Interface Design), and human experience and behavior in virtual reality (Virtual Reality Research - 3D Computer Animation). Our research methods consists of psychophysiological measurements (e.g. brain waves, heart activity, skin conductance, thermography, muscle activity, eye movements), survey techniques (e.g. rating, card sorting, pair comparisons and psychological tests), and behavioral analysis by means of room sensors (e.g. sound level, carbon dioxide, electric circuits, RFID) as well as video and motion analysis (e.g. electromagnetic, optical and electrical recordings).
