Central aim of organisation
Providing university level education and research in Software Engineering, HCI, Data Mining and Workflow Systems.
Briefly describe your organisation
The Department of Informatics Systems focuses on the development and maintenance of complex, predominantly application independent software systems. Methodological issues of software-, data- and knowledge-engineering as well as of human-computer interaction define the scope of its three research groups.
The Software Engineering group’s research focuses on software evolution, software comprehension, and software quality. The research focus of the Information and Communication Systems group is on data warehouses and business process automation. The Interactive Systems groups research focuses on usability engineering, novel interaction mechanisms, non-classical user interfaces, and also cognitive psychology.
All three research groups lead and participate in a number of national and international research projects, ranging from fundamental research to application-oriented research in cooperation with several industrial partners.
