 Central aim of organisation
Cropster creates and manages an internet based, decentralized information management system for transpareny and traceability.

 Briefly describe your organisation
We at Cropster believe in transparency and traceability! Consquently we support strengthening each participant in the supply chain particularly to improve production conditions and income for smallholder farmers. Cropster creates and manages an internet based, decentralized information management system. The application C-sar accompanies the whole supply chain for high value crops (e.g. coffee, cocoa). Additionally we enable characterising higher product quality and finally identifying production niches and niche markets to encourage shared learning through constant feedback loops.

Today Cropsters international B2B strategy is based in three countries (Austria, Colombia and USA) on three contintents and we therefore work in three languages. Our network is a wide variety of partners in business, research institutions and development organisations. Our business model is focused on a social business.

“A social business is designed to meet a social need. I believe that many kinds of enterprises can be created as social businesses in order to serve the poor” Prof. Muhammad Yunus, Founder of Grameen Bank, Nobel Peace Prize Winner 2006
