 Briefly describe your organisation
The pioneering and innovative austrian enterprise FerRobotics Compliant Robot Technology GmbH was founded in June 2006 and is the leader in the field of pneumatic robotic technology. The companies philosophy is to bring a new generation of flexible leightweight robots on the market.

FerRobotics has invented a new robot technology based on physical compliance, the “magic muscle control”. This outstanding technology is vital to provide a vast varity of till recently not yet possible tasks. The special invention on this new robot generation is to perform gently, to be sensitive to resistance, but to manage high workload at the same time.

The also implemented show-do programming offers the possibility to set up new tasks easily.

Such an innovative characteristic invites robot technology to direct and safe coopertion with humans in many fields: A compliant structure now allows to perform also industrial purposes gently (which integrates robots in industrial processes with changing tasks and small lot sizes from now on as well), even shoulder to shoulder with humans.

On top of all medical technology, healthcare, homecare and fitness are becoming one of the main focus for innovative human orientated robot devices.

In our society many people, for which reason ever, need help and support in order to manage their individual daily life tasks. This sort of daily life aid turns out to gain increasing importance, especially in a society where the demographic structure gradually develops towards longer lifetimes.

Nursing always has been and will be a very important profession for especially trained staff. But many aspects of this help and daily individual support can be covered by a new generation of robots in order to relieve the nursing staff on the one hand, and to give people who are living in such a situation (at least partly) some privacy and independence back on the other hand.

The FerRobotics robot arm is vital to open a completely new field to robotics. This has been possible through the from FerRobotics recently invented technology, which defines a new state-of-the-art, and the need to look at the economic side as well. Due to compliant softness and a human arm like appearance non-industrial tasks („ADL“=Activities of Daily Living, manipulation of objects,…) are very promising applications, on top of all the interaction with humans.
