 Briefly describe your organisation
Originally founded and registered in 1979 in St.Veit/Glan in the Austrian member state of Carinthia (Kärnten), AIT moved to Graz, the capital of Styria, in 1983. AIT (http://www.ait.co.at) is specialized in information engineering and development of information systems tailored to the complex environments for clients in very different markets. The company delivers custom-made IT-solutions for public administration in the field of social and youth welfare and health care. Research work is done primarily in the field of cultural heritage and health information management (e.g. distributed databases, collection management and knowledge engineering). The company operates aggregation platforms for the Europeana Digital Library, Europeana (www.europeana.eu). AIT has a long experience in coordinating and cooperating in international research projects within European Commission action lines, and on national and regional level. Since 2016 AIT is coordinating and involved in national and international research projects developing new diagnostic services and clinical pathways for rhinology treatment based on 3D modelling, machine learning and CFD simulation.

A special problem area which ENT-Head/Neck (ENT: Ear-Nose-Throat) surgery specialists have to deal with is the air flow in the nasal cavities and paranasal sinuses. It is a burning problem to extend the morphological diagnostic by detailed functional analysis, i.e. the visualization of the nasal air stream and the physical analysis of its energetic. Since 2017 internationally recognized research centers and market-leading medical technology companies are cooperating via the RHINODIAGNOST project. The (IraSME) project, which is coordinated by AIT, will establish a coordinated morphological and functional diagnostics for ENT physicians. The RHINODIAGNOST services shall be organized in a rapid network providing new, additional decision aids, such as 3D models and flow simulations, for ENT physicians and radiologists.
