 Central aim of organisation
We are concerned with computer-tools and methodsthat support humans in coping with complex information spaces and facilitating new insights visually.

 Briefly describe your organisation
We are concerned with computer-tools, methods, and concepts that support humans in coping with complex information spaces mainly in the medical domain. One of the main interests of our department is to make complex information structures more comprehensible, facilitate new insights, and enable knowledge discovery.

As a matter of fact, the research topics ike focuses on are
(1) Information Visualization and Visual Analytics:
We investigate visual and automatic methods which support the interactive exploration process in order to gain new insights

(2) Plan Management:
We develop methods to support the design of plans and actions as well as to execute, adapt, and maintain these.

(3) Bridging the gab between theory and practice
We examine the usability and utility of our methods and apply them in the medical domain and other application areas.

Data and information are a broad field – we focus particularly on the temporal dimension and study time-oriented data and inform
